100th Anniversary of the National Park Service
Today is the100th anniversary of the National Park Service. The national parks are owned by We The People, by each and every one of us to visit and enjoy.
This is a good day to reflect on just what Mr. Trump and the republicans have in store for the National park system if they should win the white house. They want to sell the parks and all land owned by We The People to the highest bidder. To make these lands privately owned by corporations and the ultra rich people for their own private use and exploitation. Imagine the Grande Canyon owned by Exxon or Yosemite owned by McDonalds. Owned by corporations whose sole purpose is to make money. Not to preserve and protect the environments of these beautiful places, but to make the corporations stock holders richer. By extracting minerals, cutting trees, daming rivers and putting up their advertisements and hamburger stands throughout them. They will also close some to the public and only allow exclusive memberships to other extremely wealthy individuals.
This is a extremely bad idea.
Our national parks are the jewels of the land our ancestors preserved for all Americans for all time. Not something to be sold to the wealthy few for their enrichment. I urge all Americans to vote against these corporate lackeys and save these beautiful places for our children and our children's children.
